Dr. Eric Sponville
Eric Sponville studied the archaeology of the Roman provinces at the University of Cologne. His research focused primarily on the Germanic provinces along the Rhine frontier. After completing his Master’s thesis, he had the opportunity to take part in the excavation of the Nordvicus at Krefeld-Gellep and subsequently to pursue a PhD on this very topic under the supervision of Prof. Dr Deschler-Erb. Since 2022, Eric Sponville has been working for an archaeological excavation company in Luxembourg. His research interests lie primarily in civilian life in the Roman north-western provinces.
